Original weblogs were link-driven websites. Each was a mixture in unique proportions of links, commentary, and personal thoughts and essays. Weblogs could only be created by people who already knew how to make a website.

Does your site have a blog? A blog is an easy to use communication tool. It can contain information about your product, be a place where you communicate with your customers, or a place to talk with others. If your website is geared towards selling products or putting out information, then a blog can be a great tool to have and utilize.

It is also important to use your blog if you have it. In other words, blogs can help generate traffic to your site. In the simplest means, a blog can keep customers or visitors in general coming back. They want to see what's new or hear what you have to say. Updating it often can keep the stream of visitors flowing.

Another thing about keeping your blog up to date is that it can create additional traffic to your site. Search engine spiders, as they are called, crawl over sites to read their content. They keep a note in them if your site has changed. This means that they tell themselves that they need to check back at the site because it changes. If it changes often enough and enough content at a time, then the search engine will continue to return to update itself. Even better is that each time the search engine comes to your site it will crawl deeper into it and log even more from it.

What all this means is that the search engine will log what your site is all about. When someone searches using keywords that depict your site, they are more likely to find your site then someone else's. And, that's the goal, to keep visitors coming. So, updating your blog will allow all this to take place and, possibly, keep visitors coming to your site.
